Our ‘In the Same Boat’ specialist support service puts a person recently diagnosed in touch with an established Dementia NI member, allowing them to gain information and advice from someone in the same boat, which can help them to feel understood and access further support. It will help us continue to provide our Empowerment Groups:
We have 16 Empowerment Groups across Northern Ireland, providing peer support and helping local people with dementia regain confidence after a diagnosis. Through the Groups, local organisations consult with our members on making their services more inclusive for people with dementia. Learn more about our Empowerment Groups.
